Save the Biggest for Last

By: Sef Gold In the 17-week marathon that is the regular season, the last two games become win or go home scenarios for a handful of teams. When two of these playoff hopefuls are divisional rivals squaring off, the taste of victory is even sweeter. This Sunday, Pittsburgh will once again host a playoff atmosphere as both the Ravens and Steelers battle for a post-season birth. For the Baltimore, the scenario is simple: win and get in. They have won three of their past four games including one against the Steelers. During those three wins, Joe Flacco has completed over 67 percent of his passes and has a 6-0 touchdown to interception ratio. If the sophomore Quarterback keeps up the high level of play, the Ravens are very likely to make the playoffs. After late game magic that resembled last year’s Super Bowl win, the Steelers re-entered the playoff race. Right now, their chances are slim and they need to win out to even stay in contention. Pittsburgh has big game experience on its side. The core players are in possession of two Super Bowls rings. The Steelers, who average the fifth most passing yards per game will need to execute against a Ravens defense that has given up the second least amount of points. On Heinz Field, the final AFC North divisional game will play a vital role in final the standings. E-mail Sef: sef@afcnorthtalk.com
